snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Aki/Kureno "Wild Horses" (flamika))
OK, I finished reading volumes 17 and 18 (yes, I had to do both). And I felt the whole gamut of emotions. Like I nearly cried when Kureno was talking to Tohru, especially after he told her he'd not be seeing Arisa anymore (even though you could tell he really wanted to. Hell, he even said he wanted to). And Shigure was all snarky too. I mean, to Kureno, to Akito. But, that's part of who he is, I guess.

I was feeling all squishy during the chapter when Haru and Rin reconcile. And I did notice, when Kureno was telling Haru to leave to go to Rin, that he was thinking about Arisa when he did so. Kinda like, "Go do what I can't do. Be with your girl." *sniffles* I swear, I felt like busting out crying...

And I wanted to smack that one old maid. I mean, having her go of on Kureno after he freed Rin from the Cat's Room! *bitch smack* I laughed when the translator added that she also wanted to smack the old hag...

Speaking of which, I think two different translators were used. It's not the translation issues themselves I have an issue with. After all, I don't know any Japanese to compare or anything. It's just that with Vol. 17, everything was translated, including the little side note (which I always find interesting), but for Vol. 18, it was just the text. I mean, it was nice to be able to read them, but I wanted to read the little side notes as well. And another thing I didn't like, was that for Vol. 18 (and 15 as well, now that I think about it), I had to open them in Image Ready. The main thing about it that I didn't like was having to expand the window everytime just to read them! Urgh!

I uploaded the pics from Christmas, but I still need to resize them and everything, so I probably won't post them until Monday or Tuesday. And mom is going out to dinner with the others in her office for the annual Christmas Dinner, so she'll be late. Here she'll be dining on filet mignon... and I'll be stuck with chicken or something like that. But it's not like I'm bitter!

Eep! I have to feed the kitties! I'm such a bad momma! Oh, and hey, if you still want to guess on my meme from yesterday, go here.

Quote of the day: "She has achieved success who has lived well; laughed often and loved much;... who has filled her niche and accomplished her task;... who has always looked for the best in others and given the best she had; whose life was an inspiration." -- Mrs. A.J. Stanley
