Well, mom and I are officially on vacation. We set off yesterday around 1:00 and made it to Waycross, GA at about 5:00.
We stayed at a very nice Holiday Inn Express (which is one we've stayed at before) and got some much needed rest.
Now we're holed up in a cheap Super 8 motel and waiting until morning to continue on to Pigeon Forge, TN. We've been taking the scenic route and it's been enjoyable. The mountains are coming closer, which excited me.
Having spent more than half of my life in an area that is utterly flat, you appreciate the features that other areas have. Plus, mom and I want to eventually move to Tennessee sometime. I know we keep saying that, but more and more friends of ours move up there, so I'm beginning to think our time is soon.
One friend of ours found a job with a medical company which has several positions open that are similar to what I am currently doing. It's definitely something to consider. For one thing, I'd have to find my resume first and foremost. that, and I dunno if I wanna go through the hassle of a move again, but I think it'd be worth it.
Nothing is definitive yet. I mean, I do know that mom said that one purpose of this trip is to scope out the area for possible relocation, but we'll see what happens. I do know I am sick of where we are now and want to be in the crisp air and mountains.
Since I know there are job possibilities in the area, maybe mom will be less reluctant. One of her main concerns is for me to be able to have insurance so I can continue with my Remicade treatments.
All I know is that I'm going to enjoy the time we do have here and dream of better things. Any of you who follow me on Facebook will be able to see the pictures I'll be taking along the way, as well as a few pics on Instagram along with Domo-kun.
