snapdragon76We have bloomed fully into springtime. The trees and wildflowers are all out in force and the perennials are out as well. Mom and I took a stroll around our neighborhood yesterday and we took some pictures of some dogwood trees and the irises that bloom next to the swimming pool. Mom also has her lilacs blooming in her flowerbed and they smell marvelous! While flowers do indeed grow in Florida, we could never grow lilacs because of the weather, so it’s nice to see them!
I spoke to dad on Easter and he said he’d pay for my dues for the Honor Society Sorority that I was invited to join, so I was happy about that. He and my stepmom are planning a trip to Washington DC in October and they invited me to join them. I have two official days off in October from classes, and I hope to be able to extend it a bit longer if possible, depending on my schedule from my Practicum. October would be a good time to visit since it’s not a major tourist season and the weather should be nicer and the foliage should be changing. Its six hours away from me, so it’s a long trip in an RV. I just hope that it’s a stress free six hours.
He also expressed concern about my graduation in December and being able to take the RV down in winter. I said there’s a Comfort Inn not too far from us where they could stay if they wanted to. I need to get a new dress or skirt for the ceremony since I’d like to not wear my one dress that I’ve been wearing for the past few years now, just as a change. I also need to buy my regalia. It consists of my robe, my cap, my hood and possibly my tassel. I’d like to be able to get the stole for the Honor Society Sorority to wear as well. They have a ‘graduation packet’ of the stole, the tassel that goes around the neck, and a medallion. I also need to pay for the two Praxis Exams I need to take next semester as well…
These next two weeks are going to be busy for me. I have two final projects due, as well as a small final essay, a final exam and a report of sorts to write before the end of classes. I need to try and do as much as I can after Monday (since I’ll be busy all day getting ready for the Kappa Pi Delta thing). The week after that I have a shitload of medical stuff I need to do. I have a doctor’s appointment on the 27th, as well as getting my bloodwork done for my Remicade, which is the 29th. I also have to have my allergy shots done somewhere in there as well. Like I said, BUSY! Hopefully, I won’t stress out too much.
