snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Vic)
Well, today at work nothing really interesting happened. I worked, didn't get freaked out and left at a decent time. Afterwards, I stopped by the grocery store to pick up a few things we missed on Saturday as well as a few things for a baby shower we're going to tomorrow. And when I was checking out, some lady a few lines next to mine was checking out a whole cart-full of groceries in the 20 Items or Less line. What is it with those people?! Gah!

I wrenched my shoulder a bit while playing Wii Tennis last night. We went to a birthday party and they had a Wii gaming system there (the one I've been trying forever to find), and a few of us played the Wii Sports game. It was really fun. I think I like the bowling one the best. Tennis is fun, but I need to be better coordinated I think. I suck at Golf. But I must say, I definitely want one now more than ever...

I was reading through some of my Runaways this weekend and it got me thinking that the next issue wont be out until October, which really cheeses me off. *siiiiigh* I mean, I can understand a delay here or there, but four months worth?! Not good. Plus, I don't think I like the plans the next writer has in store for one of my fave characters. From what I hear, Terry Moore is a good writer, and his series, Strangers in Paradise was supposed to be pretty good (I never read it). But he mentioned something about "not escaping [their] roots..." meaning in regards to evil parentage. And I'm like, why single him out? I mean, all of the kids' parents were pretty evil, and they seem to be pretty stable (Alex doesn't count here). All of them have "evil genes" and some such. I dunno. I guess I'm being a wee bit defensive. *sniffs*

Annnd, I heard the the three surviving memebers of Led Zep are reuniting! Whoo! I wonder if there'll be a tour and I wonder if it'll be in my neck o' the woods...

Anyway, onto figure out what to nosh on for supper and read more Ichigo/Rukia fics! Heeheehee!!!

It's fine. It was just a small twinge. I just need to be more careful next time...

The Runaways delays are really frustrating. What a way to kill a reader's interest in the story.

I liked SiP, but I'm not sure how well Terry Moore's style will fit a superhero book. He's taking over two of my favorite Marvel books (Runaways and Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane) so he better do them justice.

And I'm worried about Ramos doing the art. He has a decent style, but I guess I'm used to a certain standard when it comes to Runaways. I mean, the art was part of the reason for picking up the series after being away from domestic comics for many years having been sucked into manga. And I'm the type where I'm extremely picky about art. If the writing is decent, but the art is shit, I won't pick up a book no matter what, and vice versa.

I guess I have extremely high standards... ergh.

I know what you mean. Ramos is definitely a downgrade from Alphona and Ryan. Some of his work is okay, but his current X-Men art is just way too stylized and sloppy for my taste. (Now, if someone could just convince Jo Chen to do the interior art...)

Yeah, his style is too caricature-ish for my tastes. I mean, from the sample art I saw, Molly's eyes were the size of dinner plates. WTF?

Yes. Her art is what caught my eye in the first place...
