snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Kyoru -- 128 squish (tekla))
My sister dies the day after Christmas, my grandfather dies on Valentine's Day, My step-sister dies on Mother's Day and my uncle dies around Halloween.

This most recent one didn't have any deaths (thankfully), but I did spend a good chunk of it in the Emergency Room. Not for me, but for mom. She started having pain in her upper abdominal around 3 PM. At first she thought it was just gas, but it lasted far longer than gas usually does. At around 7, she called the doctor since it still hadn't gone away. Her PCP wasn't on call, but the doctor she works for was, and he had her stop by the office for an exam. Since I'm her taxi service, I had to come with. He thought it might be something to do with her gall bladder, so he wanted her to go to the ER in order to have some tests done and a more thorough exam. So... we did.

Turns out it was indeed a gall bladder attack (after an ultrasound and some blood work was done). Since she had been given some pain medication (by the really cute male nurse), it was determined she could be released. They told her she'd have to watch her diet from now or or face another attack. She said she felt better this morning. I think they said there may be some additional testing she'd have to go through, but with the help of some medication and a careful eye on what she eats (no greasy foods), she should be fine. No gall stones or anything of that nature. With any luck, she won't need a gall bladder-ectomy.

The cook-out itself wasn't too bad. Of course, Mom was in the middle of her gall bladder waging a war with her, so she wasn't overly social, and I'm hardly ever social, so we sat by the kiddie pool and I ate while she had a little something to drink. Way for us to meet new people, eh?

Aside from that, we didn't do anything else. We missed whatever fireworks were going on, but once you've seen them, you've pretty much seen them all.

I had to redo my headers for my userinfo page. For some reason the ones I had before went all screwy, so I had to do it a bit differently...

OMG! Today I got to see some of the scans from Furuba ch. 129!! The hug! THE HUG!!!!!! *squish* Our little Kyo's getting so big! *sniff* This really does feel like the end...

I read all of 'Absolute Boyfriend'. *cough*scanlations*cough* I couldn't stop reading it, I was wanting to see how it ended. I can't really talk about it, I'm a little depressed...

Trivia of the day: Originally a palace, the Louvre was made into a museum after the French Revolution.

Oh my goodness....snap-chan I had no idea that you'd gone through so many sad things. Well, that's another reason that we get a long so well. I comlpetely and totally understand you and I can relate on almost every level. I hope that the fact that someone else has gone through similar things gives you a little comfort. *hugs*

Absolute Boyfriend? What's that? Do you read Ouran High school Host Club? Yet another shoujo manga that I can't stop reading *cough Tsubasa Chronicles cough* *cough Immortal Rain cough*

Yes, it does. And I thank you...

It's a series by Yuu Watase about a girl who ordered a Nightly Lover" figure form a website and how it effectively cahnges her life and her views on romance et al. It's currently serialized in 'Shojo Beat'.

What did you think of the surprising revelation?

Yuu Watase? Didn't she do 'Fushi Yuugi' and 'Ceres' too? My sister loves Yuu Watase mangas. Maybe I should tell her about it.

I was so relieved? Yes superman, contribute more "do-gooder" attitude to society ^__~.

The very same. It's a pretty good series. I think it's one of her most recent ones, actually. It's six volumes long. In Japanese it's known as Zettai Karesi (I'm pretty sure).

*hugs* if she has repetitive attacks or fever with it she will probably need her gallbladder taken out.

Yeah, that's what the ER doc said. She had some more test done yesterday, and hopefully it's nothing chronic...

eventually it will have to come out but now a days most gallbladder surgery is done out patient and is a couple of ours of laparoscopic (using camera ) procedure and after a few hours of postsurgical recovery the patient goes home. *hugs* My mom had hers done a few years ago and I've assisted on a few surgeries when I did my rotation last year. It's not bad. What's bad is keeping in a troublesome gallbladder longer than necessary.

*nods* I see.

Well, all we can do is just wait and see what happens.

But thanks for the info!

Awe... poor Momma of the Snap. Hope she feels better soon.

My grandmother had a similar episode four years ago... except instead of gas she thought it was food poisoning, and it wasn't over any major holiday.

I should take a page out of your book and go read the scans of the series I'm "patiently" waiting fro an update of...

"Momma of the Snap". I like that!

Poor grandmomma of the Emi...

Good luck! Hopefully you can find what you need. I read volume 5 of 'Saiyuki' already and part of 6 (which I want to find the rest of).

I want to find more of NANA and a few other series as well...

Thank you. I am too!

Damn yours sounds like it sucked like mine! The only difference is that I'd almost rather be in the ER than deal with the idiots that seem to come out of the woodwork and flock to the river front around this time of year.

I am very glad that your mother is all right though. It's always scary when those sorts of things happen. And no deaths is good!! Very good!!

THE HUG!!! THE HUG!!! I about died when I saw that full page spread...

Yeah, I read about your 'adventures.' I hate it when people act stupid. Yes, this is the way to celebrate our country's independence. Get stupid ass drunk and make an idiot of myself...

Yeah, right now she still has to be on a liquid diet until the results of her tests come back...

Ohhh, me too! I was all *squuuuueeeeee*

Oh no! I hope your mom can get that under control and that it won't need surgery. *hugs* Holidays haven't been too great to me either. :S
Date/Time: 2006-07-07 15:00 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
Well, it looks like she may actually need surgery sometime in the future. Hopefully it won't be for quite a while though and it can be under control until then...

I hope you will have a little more peace.

*blink blink*

Is this entry from last year? I didn't know you'd be going through my older entries...

But sure, if you want to.
Date/Time: 2008-03-08 11:27 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] loritakitochan.livejournal.com
this entry is from 2006!
I've read this because of the tag absolute boyfriends,in my opinion one of the worst manga.
We are not so long friends, and I want to know what you like dislike etc.
I must admit as I read this about your family I was really sad.
You seems to be a positive person.
If you don't wish that I read your older entry is ok.
Date/Time: 2008-03-09 03:14 (UTC)Posted by: [identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com
Really? I kinda like it. It's light and a little fluffy and cute. True, it's not very deep, but sometimes you just need an escape from all of that.

I don't care if you read my older entries, it's just I'm not used to people doing so.

Maybe because I'm a little disappointed of the mangaka.
Ayashi no Ceres was good, and I've loved Fushigi Yuugi till volume 13;14-18 were shallow.
Imadoki,a desaster.
Absolute bf,I did know the end till chapter 3.

Well,I'm kind of different^-^!

Actually, I don't follow Watase-sensei's work a lot. Another friend of mine is a big fan, though.
