First of all, happy birthday to
dqbunny!
My weekend was mildly active. We were going to go to the dollar theater with a friend of ours (I want to see Deathly Hallows again for the third time), but that was nixed because one of the party wasn’t feeling well. So mom went to the wetlands again to take more pictures.
The rest of Saturday was spent kicking back. Mom and I watched a few DVD’s and that was pretty much all we did.
Sunday morning was pretty slow. I was trying to catch up on back chapters of ‘Bakuman’ that I missed. In the afternoon, we left to go do a photo shoot for a friend of ours who is getting married in April. They were basically engagement photos. Mom was the main shooter, but I took some as well for the hell of it. I hadn’t really planned on it, but there you have it. They turned out pretty decent I suppose. I can’t judge myself all that well. Mom usually doesn’t take portraits and such because believe it or not, people can be kinda demanding. But she agreed to this one (and the wedding itself) as a favor to the couple since they’re good friends of ours.
You can actually make a decent living out of wedding photography, but it can be highly stressful since you don’t really want to mess up the bride’s big day and all. So mom says she’ll stick with wildlife. I’ll stick with refining my abstract eye a little (since that’s what people say I have. I suppose so).
We did make it home in time for the majority of the Oscars. I was happy with the majority of the results. I’m glad The King’s Speech got as many as it did. I thought it was highly deserving.
I also had my LJ account renewed for another year and got 7 more icons as a result. I filled all but one of them and am still trying to decide what to put in it. Something will come to me.
