Mom had to be admitted to the hospital last night due to major abdominal cramps and vomiting. The morning was spent moving stuff from her old office building to the new one and she was feeling fine. Came home at three in the afternoon and by four was feeling ill. She couldn't keep anything down and couldn't even lay down due to the cramping. I called my aunt who came over at about 8:00 and we called the doctor who suggested she should go to the ER. So I drove her there at about *:30. She was roomed at about 10:00. They gave her morphine, which eased the pain and made her sleepy. After being examined, a CT of her abdomen was ordered and she had to drink a contrast solution mixed with cranapple juice. She couldn't drink what she needed to because of the taste, but she must've had enough to make a decent image.

They admitted her at around 4:00 this morning. After making sure she was settled in, I went home and crashed. I got up at about 10:45 and grabbed a quick bite to eat and went back over. They said she appeared to have colitis. They ordered a GI consult, but when I left there again at three, he still hadn't come. I'm home right now because I needed to get some more sleep and finish up a few things. Besides, all she's been doing is mostly sleeping due to the meds they gave her, so there was really nothing for me to do anyway. I read a book I got at the library yesterday morning. The Lovely Bones. It's good so far.

I hope to be able to post with some more news later...
