I went to see HMC again and I adored it just as much the second time around. I told myself I wouldn't giggle during the hair scene, but I did anyway. But mostly I kept staring at Howl's tush...


Anyway, I'm just feeling really discouraged lately. I mean, I keep telling myself I'm getting better at my creative outlets, but then I don't receive any feedback, so I don't know if anyone likes what I do, or even if they don't. I don't know why it is I always feel the need to have that jolt of self-confidence when it comes to stuff like that, I just do.

Don't mind me, I'm just feeling a little down-in-the-dumps today.

I have to take grandma on some errands today and then I need to go to the bank. I don't think I'm going to get any walking in today. Not that I really could anyway since it's supposed to rain... yet again.

*hugs* Everyone has those days, whether they're icon-makers or fic-writers, and usually the best thing to do is to eat something chocolate and wait it out. It really helps sometimes to just not think about icon-making for a while and just, as I think you said, "rejuvenate your creative energy."

Also, is there an icon community for the manga series that you're making these icons for? Posting to comms can be really helpful in getting more feedback...

What creative outlets do you want feedback for? You might have better luck approaching individual friends and asking for their specific feeback rather than posting them to a general forum where no one may respond, if that's the problem. *HUGS*

I think I will wait a little while ebfore I make any more icons. Maybe I'll get more creative in the interrim...

There are some out there, but the major one I make icons for, there are like a ton of communities for...

It's my icons I did. I posted a link on here to my icon journal with a bunch of the ones I made (manga based, though), and I didn't hear anything and plus, I was feeling a bit frustrated with the latest ones I was trying to do, so it all kinda came spilling out...

I saw you mention the icons and looked for them but gave up when I couldn't find them (granted I was looking for posted icons, not a link. I'm used to there being 'preview icons' and such.)

But yeah the best thing to do if you want feedback is to ask individuals directly. :) But there are always things we post on LJ that we want feedback for, and those are the things we end up getting no comments for. It sucks. :(

I don't get much feedback (besides my LJ buddies who are great with that) on my stuff. I dunno, as long as no one writes "Stop writing and step away from the computer", I'm content.

But, I mostly write to entertain myself (I think up stories that no one has written).

Thanks for the response. I don't so much write as attempt to make icons. I personally don't think they're too bad, but there are only so many I can use myself. I like to think I'm getting better. I guess time will tell...

We all have our ups and downs, and I know what it's like to need that little bit of encouragement to remind you that you're not alone, that everything you put so much work into has meaning... and it does!! You learn from everything you do so it's always worth it!!!

ANd I do see that I've been getting better. And I'll probably keep getting better as I go.
