For some reason, my computer is being super slow and I have yet to figure out why. After I finish with my online session, I'll try and see if I can clear some stuff of and some such. It's baffling. And only some sites are slower than others. It's strange.
I watched "How Clean is Your House" last night. I swear, I'm getting addicted to that show. These two sisters were living in absolute filth! How can sane people live like this. I don't understand it. The bathroom was terrifying. There was out of control mold in there. It was so bad, they had to have a special crew come in and take the walls out and replace them. Ug. Now I admit to clutter, but I'm still clean! And I have three cats, too! I keep after them also.
I came across another "sub vs. dub" debate (which I was in a little). I wish these "die hards" would stop attacking people who happen to like watching the dubs. I've said many a time, it shouldn't matter how you watch it, as long as you enjoy what you're watching. Then they go about how sucky the dubs are and stuff. How the VA's aren't as dedicated to what they do as the ones in Japan are. I beg to differ! The English VA's are just as professional and dedicated to their performance as the Japanese ones are. Yeah, true sometimes they have to alter the syntax and the speech patterns a bit in order to match the mouth movements so that when you watch the show, it doesn't look out of sync. They still keep the intentions and meaning of what was originally said. No one takes into concideration the fact that there may be fans who watch who don't have the best reading comprehension skills. Like for instance, someone with dyslexia. If they tried to watch the subs, they'd get lost because they're reading skill are different than other peoples. Does this mean they shouldn't watch any at all?
Sorry if I seem passionate about this, but it just irritates me when one of these "DUBS SUX!!!11!!!" tirades get started. I try to stay out of them for the most part.
Trivia for the day: Slime molds are half fungus and half bacteria. They live on the floor of South American rainforests and slither around like an animal in search of food while, like a plant, they scatter spores that will become more slime molds.

If I have a choice I'll watch the sub, but it's a personal preference, not a manifesto. There are people who say dubs are better because with subs you're reading something that's meant to be watched and listened to.
And I'm very tired of English VAs getting trashed. They work hard and they do good jobs. It's a different industry in Japan, with more respect, but that doesn't mean they're the only good ones.
My daughter is 10 and her reading skills aren't up to subs so we watch dubs together. The other day I watched Inu-Yasha with her, and I kept saying to myself "I'm going to hate this." because I had heard Inu-Yasha's dub voice and thought it was whiny. Well, it was a little whiny, and I do prefer the sub, but it was still worth watching. Even I need to mellow out I think.

And everyone's going to find a little fault with the acting, but cut them some slack at any rate. I think they do a pretty good job overall.
And I think I'm spent on this topic for the time being. Until next time!!
