Man, it's hot out today! I feel like I'm going to melt into a puddle of goo right here. August is the worst month for weather. Bleh...

I had a small problem with my cable modem today. I called the cable company and they did their little checks. Apparently, a bunch of them were out in the area. That made me feel better. So, I went to the bookstore in the meantime. I bought a new Dave Barry book (he's so funny, I love him) and this other book that was recommended to me. It's called "The Giver" by Lois Lowry.I have yet to read it. It's said to be really good.

In regards to the bozo I ranted about yesterday, I've decided to take the mature approach and ignore him. I'll continue to post on the thread, but only in regards to the topic.

Quote of the day: "Temper, if ungoverned, governs the whole man."

Oh, feel the irony.

Yes! Dave Barry rocks.

"The Giver" is truly excellent as well - very thought-provoking and beautifully written.

Good reading choices. :)

I love Dave Barry! I need to start buying his books to start my own collection though... Best book I've read so far is Dave Barry Does Japan. ^_- I miss reading his Sunday editorials...

I've heard of The Giver, but I can't for the life of me remember what it's about exactly. You'll have to let us know how it is.

I love Dave. He makes me laugh so much sometimes I almost wet myself (I said almost).

Now I'm really curious about "The Giver." I guess I'll just have to find out, won't I?

I have that book, actually. I think it's a riot.

And I shall definitely be posting a review of "The Giver" once I finish reading it.
