- I sometimes fancy myself as a hobbyist photographer. My mom gave me one of her older cameras for me to use and I'm trying to get the hang of it still.
- I suffer from Clinical Depression and Anxiety. I'm on medications to help keep it under control. I've never been suicidal or anything, but I've had a few very low moments before.
- I also have Crohn's Disease. I was diagnosed in 2000 when I was 23. I've only had one relapse which was in 2011.
- I'm Asexual. I wasn't absolutely sure until a few years ago, and now I'm pretty sure I am. I can feel attracted to someone (what's been referred to as 'hetero-romantic'), but I don't have any desire to have sex. There's a strong chance I won't get married, but I may yet. I'm not pinning my hopes on it though. I rather like being single.
- My middle name is Ruth after my great-grandmother on my father's side. She passed away when I was 12, so I still have memories of her. She was a teacher and stressed the importance of education. I wear a yellow rose at my graduations in honor of her.
- There are members of my family who dislike me, but not for anything I myself have done. It stems from an accident that I suffered when I was seven and there was a lawsuit involved later on. It is rather hurtful, but there is nothing I can really do about it.
- I had an older sister named Christena who passed away when she was eight and I was three. I have very few memories of her. She had Cerebral Palsy and was frustrated with her limitations and developed ulcers, once of which hemorrhaged and she never survived it.
- I had a step-sister named Annette who also passed away when she was 23. She was three months younger than I was and even though there were times we didn't always get along, she was the closest thing to an actual sister I remembered having. She suffered from a pulmonary embolism.
- Even though we moved to Tennessee a few months ago, there are a few things I miss about Florida still. Aside from the family and friends, I miss sunrises on the beach and being able to watch the rocket launches from the parking lot. I don't miss the weather though...
- I have a learning disability called 'dyscalculia' with which I was diagnosed when I was in junior college. I have trouble processing math problems higher than an elementary school level.
- I have two cats who are my 'furbabies'. A ten year old domestic short hair named Moon Shadow (aka Moon) and a three year old tortoiseshell named Tor-T (aka Goober, Squeakers, Twerp et al).
- I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. I had aspirations to becoming a counselor, but that never panned out. Probably for the best though.
- I hope to be accepted into Graduate School at East Tennessee State University to be admitted into the program for Educational Media and Technology (i.e. school librarian). No word as of yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed at least.
- I don't want children. I don't really feel comfortable around them for the most part (ironic considering my desired graduate degree). I have nothing against children in general since they are our future generations. I just don't want any for myself.
- I collect dolls. Not the creepy kind (I think...) but the collectible kind like Tonner dolls that are based on movie characters like Jasper and Alice from the movie series Twilight. I also have a few NECA action figures that I use in a photography set I do.
- I was born in Northern Indiana and was raised primarily (for the first ten years) in a small town in South East Indiana.
- I'm not technically OCD, but I do have a few quirks that can be mistaken for it. Such as always making sure the doors are all locked before going to be, putting things in a specific place or facing a certain way.
- I have very simple tastes. Hot dogs, hamburgers and the like. Kinda like a kid...
- I have a pretty decent sized sweet tooth. Not raging out of control though.
- i was attacked by a St. Bernard when I was seven and it did irreparable damage to my vocal cords so I can't talk above a hoarse whisper. I also have visible scars on my throat from it. I don't feel as self-conscious about it like I used to.
I think for some of them I was scraping the bottom of the barrel, but they're all true!
