snapdragon76: this is made of win and awesome (Zel -- eyetwitch (ichiban_victory))
Argh! I've spent most of the day yesterday trying to find my Social Security card only to discover it's probably in storage somewhere. Apparently I need it for my W-2 form for my soon-to-be job. Since I've memorized my SSN ever since I was in college and you're not supposed to carry it with you for risk of identity theft, I don't keep track of it (though I probably should). I mean, if it's just the number they need, I can just give it to them, but they probably need it for their records or something. I contacted my former employer via e-mail (and will phone again soon). Hopefully I haven't screwed myself.

And I was able to get my background to show up again. Finally.

*thinks* Well, I think that's about it. Watched Lost last night. Was bewildered through most of it. It has the tendency to do that to me.

Trivia of the day: In Breton, Alabama, there is a law on the town's books against riding down the street in a motorboat.<--D'wah?

Most work places always want a copy of your social security card and your drivers license. If nothing else, it's proof that you are a legal citizen.

Lost was....yeah, more questions than answers as usual. I thought it was pretty neat, but I had a roommate who kept walking into the room who hasn't seen a bit of the series. She kept asking, "Who's that? What's going on? What are they doing?" I got flustered and finally exclaimed, "I don't know! No one does!" ^_^;; I hate how they're trying to break Jack, Kate, and Sawyer... (It was really kind of Sawyer to sacrifice his hard-earned fish biscuit for Kate though.)

Thankfully they're willing to accept my birth certificate, which I can find.

Yeah, it's hard to explain to to a newbie when half the time you yourself don't have any idea what's going on...

And I think he did it mostly because he's sweet on her. I doubt he'd have done the same had it been Jack.

Good luck with all your job processing!

I watched Lost, too and feel rather, well, lost. *grins* Seriously, I'm worried about what they're going to do to Sawyer, Kate and Jack and it makes me uncomfortable to watch it right now.

Go to the local courthouse to whichever department handles that and request a new SS card. I had to do that when I realized I'd left my SS card here in TN.

It takes a few days... to a few weeks, to come it. But its better than nothing. And should you find your old one then you have two.

So you pretty much got the job? ^__^

I think Abrams makes things up as he goes along. That's what bothered me with "Alias" too.

I think I'm almost finished with it, at least I hope so...

That's part of what makes it so compelling to watch. Seeing what'll happen next and trying to untangle the mysteries the island holds.

Well, I was able to find an alternative, but I will look into getting a new one sometime.

Is that one of your new icons I take it?

Pretty much. I just have to wait until they get all the paperwork done and stuff before I know which specific position I'm up for. There's more than one int he department.

*shrugs* It's a mater of opinion, I suppose. I like the whole mysterious happenings and secrecy kind of thing. You get to see many layers open up, which then raises even more questions. I suppose it can drive some people crazy, but not me.

And I think they have a basic idea of what's going to happen beforehand. I doubt they completely make it up on the fly. It's all interconnected, but you don't see the connections until much later usually.
