Yeah, I'd agree with you. I like both Tomoe and Kaoru, but Kaoru edges forward just a bit more since we see more of her and develop more of an attachment to her. All those people who say that did like Kaoru and say Tomoe is better have no idea what they're talking about. Sure, Tomoe was a good person, and was the person Kenshin needed at that particular point in his life, but Kaoru is just as important. Do they expect Kenshin to pine for her the rest of his life? Besides, Tomoe herself told him to go and find the "girl who is waiting for your smile."
