Hello my loyal readers! How is everyone today? Fine? Good to hear...
*clears throat*
My weekend was as follows:
Saturday: Unpacked. That was pretty much it. I still have some boxes of shit to go through, so I'm still unpacking. Not a lot left to go however, so that's a good thing. My room is pretty much how I want it. My aunt came over and helped my mom figure out where to put her pictures so the look decent. Rather than just throw them on the wall all willy-nilly, we like to have a flow of sorts. Read all those decorating magazines, they'll pretty much say the same thing. However, neither mom nor I have the "eye" for details like that that my aunt has, so hence the visit.
I unpacked my action figures, so everyone is assembled on the top shelf of my computer desk. All is as it should be.
Later in the evening (after coming back from grocery shopping and subsequent naps), mom and I popped Slumdog Millionaire into the DVD player and watched it. She'd seen it before in theaters, I hadn't. It was well worth the hype it garnered over the Academy Awards. If you get a chance to see it, you should.
Sunday: We played hooky from church and slept in. Mostly because mom had a headache, so it was somewhat justified. Later on, after a breakfast of French Toast (our usual Sunday repast), we decided to run a few errands. It was obvious we'd both gotten paid Friday. We stopped by Starbuck's to get Black Tea iced tea, which I've become unnaturally fond of.Then, we went to the theater to watch UP (very cute. Pixar does it again). Interesting thing happened while at the theater. The trailers that started playing were for... non-G rated movies. One was for The Hangover (which does look pretty funny), another was for Sherlock Holmes (which I am TOTALLY seeing. I mean, RDJ AND Jude Law?! That's a whooooole lotta sexy on one screen), and we got one for Transformers 2 (which I need to see the first one first). Mom and I both thought this was a little strange to be showing action movies in front of a kids movie. Turns out, the movie that was playing the the theater beforehand was Terminator, which explained the trailers. They never switched over. Sooo, we got free movie passes to compensate for our inconvenience. Mom and I are gonna see Star Trek again. Yes, it is that good.
Before we went to the theater though, we stopped in that bookstore. That's just asking for trouble. I bought a couple of manga. Volume 18 of FMA and a new series I'd heard about from others that got highly recommended: High School Debut. I've only read one chapter so far, but it looks to be cute. I bought the first four volumes.
We went back to Wal-Mart, because mom was looking for a few things for the place. We both searched (fruitlessly it turns out), for Transformers. We will not be swayed!! We will see it somehow before the second one comes out! I was able to buy me a cover (and a matching yoga mat) or my WiiFit. I just need to get back on the horse again, as it were.
I bought the first season of Designing Women too. Hence the title.
Mom got to "met" one of our new neighbors on Saturday. They live right next to us. Now, we'd already met the couple who live directly across from us, and they seem very nice. However, they're moving out come August because she's going to school in Gainesville to study veterinary medicine. Too bad. THESE other people, however seem very snotty. Like I was saying, mom was out by the side, where we have a few plants she was repotting and the neighbor lady was leaving for somewhere (keep in mind, I wasn't actually there for all of this, I'm hearing it secondhand), and mom introduced herself out of politeness. Neighbor lady looked at mom like she just shit on her shoes. Whatev. What AUDACITY mom had to INTRODUCE HERSELF!! GOD FORBID! I'd have been like, "Listen here, cupcake. You are NO BETTER than anyone else here, so you can just remove that stick rammed up your ass." What. A. Bitch. To hell with her anyway. In a year or so, we'll be moving to Tennessee, so...
I got some of those rope lights at Home Depot, and I laid them around the edge of my room, just for a nice little lighting effect. Boy, that is pretty exhausting work! Especially if you have furniture that isn't easily moved that you have to thread it through... but it looks cool, so it was worth it.
Gotta go for now. See everyone later!
