Yeah, in Livonia (where I go to school and where I grew up) there's a Japanese market (Koyama Shoten), and in the same strip mall, a Japanese Book Store (Japan Book Center). It's right down the street from my school.. on 6 Mile to be exact. Then north of there, in Novi, at 12 Mile, is another market, bigger, called One World, and in the same strip mall, is a Japanese Entertainmen Store called Mirai and it has all the stuff that book store has but way more (Jpop, tons of Sanrio stuff, more manga, even regionless DVD players -drool-). In Ann Arbor, about 45 minutes from here, home of University of Michigan, there's a ton of stuff. A big one is an anime store called Wizzywigs. I used to like them cuz they had like a whole wall of JPop cds, but not anymore -sob- So there's no point for me to go there anymore.
But yeah, the reason we have that, is for some odd reason, we have a big Japanese population. Especially in Livonia and Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor, mostly because of UofM, but I don't know why they're all in Livonia too XD
At the Metro Detroit Airport (just south of me), there's two languages on the signs in the McNamara Terminal (the newest, nicest terminal.. i dunno about the others): English and Japanese :3 I was having fun once when we went there cuz I could read the easy katakana stuff like elevator "erebetoru" -giggle-
(no subject)
