"We Serve 'Menudo'" -- ooh, does Ricky come with?

*sign in the Mexican restaurant we ate at tonight* I wonder what they mean by that? Is it a delicacy? Do they serve the members of the group? Do they serve them up on platters? What is it? But then, I'm just an ignorant gringa so I have no clue whatsoever.

I'm going to move to the OB/GYN place on Monday. I'm gonna miss working at the main building. Mostly some of my co-workers. Well, except for these couple of guys. They're college age and work part time and all it seems they do is bitch and moan. Mostly in regards to the way the work stations are left after these two older ladies (who also work part time) leave for the day. Now, if they were left in disarray it would be one thing, but they're not. It's just they work a bit differently than the guys do and they always seem to complain about it. Plus, there's a radio there that is kept on a neutral station, mostly oldies and the guys complain about that too. I'm thinking, "What is the big damn deal. You all have your own music you listen to through headphones, so you shouldn't even hear it. Let the rest of us without the benefit of personal music *points to self* have a nice distraction in the background. *insert an insult based on the male anatomy here*"

On the plus side, I got paid today, so that's a good thing!

Trivia of the day: Edward VII had a highly respected reputation as a leader of fashion. As a result, it was assumed he invented the world-famous Windsor knot after he abdicated in 1936 and became Duke of Windsor. According to Sarah Giddings, fashion trend researcher, the tie knot may well have been the brainchild of his father, George V. George was photographed in the 1920s wearing a tie knotted in what appeared to be the never-before-seen Windsor knot.

Menudo is like a soup. No one in either of my extended families makes it, so I'm not a fan of it. My dad loves it, and I've seen my friends' mother put things like pig feet in it. =/

hehe ;-D Menudo, the band. Lots of memories...

I was going to say that I think it's a type of soup, but I see Flamika already confirmed this. What did you have at the Mexican place?

Yay for paycheck!!

getting paid is always a good thing.........

I got paid today too!

Ooh! I know! Let's go shopping for manga together ^__^v.

Ahh, thanks for the clarification.

Pig's feet?! But then, I had eaten a hot dog earlier in the day and it's not all that much different really.

And I'm struck by the irony (and hilarity) of a popular singing group named after a soup.

A fan were we? In the Ricky days?

Tacos. Adventurous, aren't I?

Yay indeed. Next one'll be more since I'll have had two weeks under my belt.

Ohh, yes indeedy!

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2006-10-21 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent idea!!

IR 7 comes out next month, just so you know...

[identity profile] shoujo22.livejournal.com 2006-10-21 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I know! I'm so excited about it. Can't wait ^__~v

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2006-10-21 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, I have got so many manga titles coming out next month it's not even funny...

[identity profile] shoujo22.livejournal.com 2006-10-22 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Really? What else is there? Maybe you can inspire me to buy more.

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2006-10-24 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
For starters:

TriMax 11 Nov. 1

Death Note 8 Nov. 7

Immortal Rain 7 Nov. 7

Samurai Deeper Kyo 20 Nov. 7

Fullmetal Alchemist 10 Nov. 21

Eternal Sabbath 3 Nov. 28

And Kaze Hikaru is in there somewhere....

So you see what I mean?

[identity profile] shoujo22.livejournal.com 2006-10-24 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Eternal Sabbath? The name has caught my interest. Maybe I should look that up.

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2006-10-25 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
You should. The art is very beautiful and the story is a bit of a sci-fi mystery. It's by the same manga-ka who did MARS, a series I absolutely love.

My icon is from ES.

[identity profile] shoujo22.livejournal.com 2006-10-25 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder if I can find it at books-a-million??

[identity profile] snapdragon76.livejournal.com 2006-10-26 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
You probably could. I get mine at Barnes and Noble, but I think I saw it in at BAM as well.
