Ahhh, yes. L and his oral fixation...

Just got finished replying to my Yahoo! mail. Mostly I use it for my fandom related stuff, but it's also where I receive my LJ replies. I had 21 this time, which I like. It takes time to reply back to them, but I don't really mind...

Today I go over and help my aunt with the pricing and stuff of grandma's things. I know nothing of how to judge the value of stuff, so hopefully I'll be able to do OK. This is what's really going to take a lot of time since there's quite a bit to go through.

Mom wants me to pick her up a little early since she wants to go and get her haircut. I need to call and see if my hairdresser is back from maternity leave and what her hours are, because my hair needs cut too. I was going to color it, but I think I'll wait a while for that. The haircut is more important. It's starting to annoy me.

I've been watching the special on VH-1 called "I Love Toys" and I tell ya, they're really bringing me back. I'm familiar with a lot of the toys they've been showing on there. I had a lot of them, too. I don't know why I like the nostalgia shows like I do. It's just fun I guess. And that's the point. To be entertained.

I've got a few more icon ideas brewing around, but I don't know when I'll be able to get them done. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I went and got 'Howl's Moving Castle' yesterday. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but hopefully soon. I also got 'Bambi II' and I was able to watch it. It was pretty cute!

I was able to spot Takada in DN 4 (with some help from [livejournal.com profile] flamika. Thank you). And she looks relatively normal when we first see her. Just a normal college co-ed who's pretty and popular. Fast forward to most recently when she's a member of Light's Legion of Doom... and pays the price for it. Mikami interests me though, I mean, from the scant images I've seen, he's pretty hot. A little warped maybe, but hot none the less...

Trivia of the day: The Hope diamond was acquired by King Louis XIV in 1668. It was worn 120 years later by Marie Antoinette and it now resides in the Smithsonian Institution. This beautiful natural blue diamond weighs 44.5 carats today. <-- I've actually been to the Smithsonian and seen it!

Yeah, I'd always been slightly facinated by the Great Prince ever since the original one, so I was glad to see a movie where he makes a major apperance.

And I saw HMC twice in the theateres. Wonderful! You'll love it!

Did you ever read the Bambi books? (I only ever got to read Bambi's Children, which was very good. I'm wondering if Disney's ever going to touch that. It involved man a lot more, since one of Bambi's offspring gets injured and rescued by a ranger. I need to go find the original book...) I think part of the enjoyment of the movie for me was just watching the animation. It's sad that Disney's gifted animators have been reduced to making straight-to-DVD movies, but I'm glad they still are working. Traditional animation can't die...

I'll see the movie one of these days, although I suppose I should read the book first, right?

I've never seen any of the Bambit books. I know there was a little blurb in the credits mentioning them, but I never sought them out. I must try and do that sometime...

Well, you don't need to read the book first in order to enjoy the movie. It's based on the book, but goes in a different direction. I enjoyed both as seperate entities.
