Like you said, maybe it's because Ann Arbor is a college town. I used to have a Japanese roommate during my first year of college, but this was before I was into anime and stuff. If I had been, you better believe I'd have been pestering her over all sorts of stuff.

I did get a kick out of her Japanese toothpaste tube, though.
