Long time no see, eh? I know, I've been very lax in my postings lately. I apologize for being so neglectful. Most of it's just laziness and unmotivated.

We're getting into the summer movie season and there are quite a few I want to see this summer. I've already seen 'The Avengers' three times since it opened four weeks ago. Yes, it's that awesome. I was gonna do a write up on here like I've done before, but I haven't been motivated enough and coherent enough to do so. I also saw 'Dark Shadows' last week, which I liked. Mom was a little indifferent, but she wasn't a huge fan of the original show. She said she watched it a few times when it was on though. I'll probably watch it again though.

Job wise things are going okay. I mean, I get bored out of my mind a lot of the times, but since I'm gainfully employed and have decent health insurance, I can't complain too much. I'd ideally like to find something I'd be happier doing, but I've yet to figure out what that is yet. Maybe someday.

The work environment is pretty much status quo. I mean, there are still personality conflicts going on, but I try not to let it bother me as much anymore. It's not worth me wasting my time and energies on it. I'm kinda worried about my friend J though. She's a bit neurotic and the situation bothers her a lot more than it does me. I think she thinks it bothers me as much, but it doesn't really. I just try to tune things out as best I can. It's harder for her to do so, however. She complains to me a lot about it. I try to be as sympathetic as I can. We've tried going to our boss about it, but nothing seems to have helped. I'm honestly getting worried about her sanity. I hope she doesn't do anything drastic like leave and such, because she's basically the only person I have to talk to there. It's a bit sad, but then it's the story of my life in a nutshell. Like high school all over again, and I hated high school.

Mom and I went snorkeling a few weekends ago with some friends of ours to a natural spring and it was a lot of fun! I definitely want to do it again! I want to try to get an underwater camera though, since we had to get the disposable kind and film developing is expensive anymore. Sheesh. Still, I got a few nice pictures out of it though!

I'd post one, but I can't get Photobucket to resize it properly and for some reason, whenever I try to upload pictures onto my LJ scrapbook in order to insert into Semagic, I keep getting error messages. Blah.

And I started watching 'Legend of Korra.' It's awesome. I love it. And I am officially a Makorra shipper. ♥ I need to find icons to add, but I'd have to cull some in order for them to fit and I can't decide what to dump. Choices, choices.

I've also fallen in love with the BBC version of 'Sherlock.' There are only three episodes per season (although they're each 90 minutes long). The first season is available on Netflix Instant, so I'm going to check to see if the second has been added yet since it came out recently. There are plans for a third season, thankfully. Again with the icon issue.

Vacation last month was a bit of a disaster. I got into a huuuuge argument with my step-mother (a first for me in the 25 years I've known her) and the stress got to be too much that I had to leave early. My dad was very understanding about it, though. He's had to deal with the massive mood swings she's gone through recently. I haven't spoken to her since then, so I don't know how things are between us. Dad did say that after cooling off for a few days, she did feel regret for things that happened. Maybe things will get better. Only time will tell I suppose.

My manga blog is still in it's infancy. Hopefully I can gather enough ideas in order to do decent postings and not get lazy and unmotivated like I tend to do. I hate that aspect about myself. I need to update my Mini Jasper and Alice blog as well.

Health wise I'm doing well. We're into allergy season, and that's always fun. The Remicade treatments I've been getting seem to help with my Crohn's. It's not so bad having to get stuck with an I.V. needle every eight weeks. I take my Kindle, my iPod and some snacks and settle into one of the more comfortable chairs and relax. Most of the time I end up falling asleep.

Well, if you were able to read all of that without falling asleep, congratulations! You get a cookie! It's a virtual cookie, so I hope that's ok. No calories in those.

Ciao!

Here I am, sitting on a sleeping bag atop my box spring because my umpteenth air mattress developed a massive air bubble which made sleeping pretty difficult. I had tried using another spare air mattress we had which developed a leak that I foolishly thought was fixed, but it took a few DVD episodes of 'That '70's Show' to prove otherwise.

So, since I have to wait a few weeks for my tax refund to come in where I shall be able to buy an actual mattress, I have resorted to the above configuration. This is not the first time I have had to sleep on a box spring. When we first moved down here, we had a bunk bed. Mom took the top mattress for the lower bunk and I had the box spring for the upper bunk. Not too bad, although I was only ten at the time and a lot more durable, so to speak. I do have my egg crate mattress pad underneath the sleeping bag, so that gives a little bit of cushioning. I shall pray for my return to come quickly so I can have an actual mattress again after SEVERAL years.

I am also joyfully involved in more work drama. The best kind!! /sarcasm

Anyhoodle, one of my co-workers is recently pregnant, and I don't know if it's the hormones or what, but she's become rather, well... bitchy. I mean, she's always been one to go off at a moment's notice over anything really. But this is the first one directed at me. Now, when I eat my lunch, I drink out of a plastic skull mug I had gotten for one Halloween one year. I use a skeleton straw to drink from. Sometime I do tend to slurp when I hit bottom, but I try not to do it too often. Last Tuesday, however, I must've done it waaaaay too many times (i.e. ONCE) and set off this particular co-worker. Basically she snapped at me.

Now, I understand that excessive drink slurpage can be cause for annoyance, and I do try not to do it often, but there had to be better ways to deal with the situation than fly off the handle like that. Sending an email, wording it a little more tactfully, ect. Basically it was pretty embarrassing for me since she did it in our office in front of all my other office mates, which I really think was uncalled for. But then, she never was one for discretion.

Now she's not even talking to me. I did apologize for the 'offense' and have even taken to eating my lunch elsewhere so I can slurp in peace if need be. I mean, I didn't think it was THAT big of an offense, but I guess so. I mean, she doesn't even acknowledge me when I greet everyone in the mornings. Whatevs. I'm trying to be Zen about the whole thing, but I flip back and forth between caring and not caring. I think my FIG rates are at an all time low right now.

Thank God I have an ally in there with me. My other co-worker/office mate was out for a few weeks following a neck surgery she had and previously mentioned co-worker was rude to her as well for no real reason. I mean, me I kind of get, but her? I have no clue. There are a bunch of children in there. So me and my ally email each other back and forth in order to have conversations with each other. Hell, no one else in there is talking to us, so we might as well join forces.

My one consolation is that the pregnant co-worker will be out on maternity leave come July, so that's one less stressor I have to worry about. I swear, all of this crap has brought my Anxiety Disorder back with a vengeance. A few times I had to hide in the bathroom in order to stave off a panic attack. Talk about awkward to have at work!

Makes me really look forward to the vacation Mom and I have planned for late October back to Tennessee. I think that is where our hearts truly lie. Now, if only we could get the money to move there permanently, we'd be all set.

A lot of work suck going on. General stupidity and lack of communication between departments and from the upper echelons to us plebes. Needless to say, company morale is down the toilet and is so low it's in the double negatives. Why go through the trouble of hiring new people if you can't even bother to train them until nine months after you hire them and after they do everything wrong because they haven't been trained properly in the first place. You would think it would be less time consuming to do it that way so that people in my department don't have to waste time correcting errors that could've been avoided in the first place.

Plus we have all these new rules and guidelines we have to follow and it just makes things more difficult. Naturally they tell us these things in the middle of the day after we'd already done things the old way.

I really wish I knew what to do with my life. I have no real marketable skills, despite the fact I went to college and graduated with a pretty much useless degree. I have no talent in anything in particular to hone on anything. I mean, I wish I could find something a little more fulfilling to do with my life, but I just don't know what that is just yet.

Sorry for rambling on and such and being a little emo. I guess I just need to unleash a little bit. Thanks for reading those of you who did. I appreciate it.

Sorry I've been on radio silence for so long. Just haven't been overly motivated to post much lately.

Today was the last day of work in our old building. It's a little weird to not be going to work in that building anymore. But, the new one is a lot nicer and a lot closer (for me at least). And only one floor. The inside is a bit of a maze, so that take some time to get used to. I am going from a room with two people, to a room with six people. Luckily the majority of them I get along with perfectly fine. One I'm not sure of. I mean, she was moved to our department a few months ago, but due to there not being any room in our suite, she had to remain downstairs where she was originally, so we never really got a chance to know her. I guess we'll find out eventually.

Due to the move, I also have the day off tomorrow. I mean, there will be no work to do since all of our belongings will be moved to the new place so there was basically no point. There will be a few of us at the two locations basically supervising, I guess. I'm lucky that I'll get a corner spot so I can ensconce myself in my little corner and not be highly visible, lol! I don't like having people sneak up behind me when I'm working. It unnerves me.

As for what I plan on doing tomorrow on my day off, I have some labwork that I need to get done (which I have to fast for. Fun). After that I dunno. I might go to the movies, but I haven't decided yet. I do need to fold towels sometime. I am looking forward to sleeping in a little bit!

Hello all.

I had a fun weekend. Mom and I went to the dollar theater for a double feature. Two movies for $3.00! Not bad! Anyway, we went to see 'Tangled' first and foremost. And something I noticed when I was watching was that everyone in the kingdom has brown hair. This was particularly noticeable during the kingdom dance. Rapunzel was the only blonde. I think maybe this was an artistic choice so as to have her stand out more. Make her more noticeable. Like her 70 feet of hair wasn't noticeable enough. Once her hair gets cut, she's a brunette, like everyone else. Maybe that was a way of showing her as an official member of the kingdom.

I could be over thinking it though.

After that movie was over, mom and I had some free time in between, so we walked around and looked in some of the shops near the theater. We went into the hardware store and I found that they were selling home made jams and honey. I thought that was an odd thing to be selling at a hardware store, but I think they were locally made and so they were selling them for whoever made them, I guess.

We were going to meet some friends for the second film. Well, I was. I wanted to see 'Deathly Hallows' again and mom didn't so she was going to see 'Narnia' again. I went into the theater without seeing the other part of the party. Ten minutes or so into the movie, they came in. They had gotten lost! So we were able to watch the movie together after all!

Afterward we decided to grab a bite at the nearby McDonald's. I thought it was a better choice than the bologna I was planning to eat at any rate. So we ate and talked like we like to do when we get together. It was fun, like always! I enjoy it.

Sunday was pretty laid back. we did some laundry and I fiddled with my Wii so I could get internet access with it again (hence the previous post). I watched 'Unstoppable' on DVD while mom was crammed into my room (my room isn't all that large, see).

I heard more info about the office building we will be moving into. My boss was given a walk through on Friday. I'm pretty sure it wasn't JUST her, but other PFS supervisors as well.

Anyway, she sent us an email with some more details.

-- our department is getting three suites for us to use. Two smaller rooms and one larger room.
-- there may actually be windows.
-- we might not get the same roommates as before. It will most likely be divided by job responsibility. i.e. all the charge posters in one room and all of the insurance posters in a room.
-- there will be three people in one room, three in another room and six in the larger room.
-- there will be a large break room with three refrigerators.
-- many bathrooms!!
-- we get to keep our same computers, which is good because I have my email settings and my work documents all saved on the one I'm using and I'd hate to redo all of it...

Aside from myself, there are two other charge posters so the three of us will most likely get a room to ourselves. As it happens, I do tend to get along quite well with the other two ladies, so that will be good. And I won't be in a large open area with a lot of people looking over my shoulder, which I like.

So. things are looking pretty positive right now!

Well, this weekend was kind of busy. For starters, mom and I got our respective hairs cut. She also got a perm. I just stuck with a haircut. I used to have to get perms and I hated it with a burning, blinding passion.

I'd post a picture, but for some reason Semagic is being a bitch and not wanting to upload any pictures. DD:

If you follow my Tumblr account, you can see it on there.

You can see it here for convenience sake.

We then ate lunch afterward at the local brewery and grille. We just had the burgers, no beer. They were pretty good.

Then we got groceries and made a detour through the local park, mostly so mom could eye locations for photoshoots.

The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful. I did manage to clean my bathroom on Sunday. That's quite an achievement for me, who has to be really motivated to clean. Sad, I know. I rewarded myself with Twinkies later. :DD

I got a new roomie today at work. Yes, another one. She seems to be more permanent though. I got that impression because IT made sure to switch the computer over to her name as well as the phone. She seems pretty nice though. Young, like in her mid twenties. She used to be a Medical Secretary bust she got burned out with it and wanted a change. There was an opening in our department and decided to apply. I think I like her.

I also cleaned out my bottom drawer in anticipation of our department's move in late May/early June. I accumulated a lot of takeout napkins and plastic silverware for some reason. My trash can was full of pretty much nothing but napkins and plastic utensils.

Been reading more of my recently acquired manga over the weekend. Mainlining more Ouran as well. Man, I have a sickness...

A bit of a change is coming to where I work, but it’s of the good kind.

We. Are. MOVING!

Yes, we in the PFS (Patient Financial Services) Department are moving to a new building on June 1st. This is good in many ways because the building we are in now is kinda crappy. Mostly due to mold and mildew. Lest I forget the whole ‘paint the ceiling tiles to cover the water stains’ fiasco…

Plus, another good thing for me at least is that this new building(s) are only 15 minutes away from where I live! Cause it’s kinda a pain to drive to the neighboring city in order to go to work, lemme tell ya. There are a few people where it would be farther since they live closer at present, but let’s be honest… I don’t care about them… ;D

There are a few concerns I may have about this move however, so I will go over the pros and cons using the tried and true +/- method:

+ closer to where I live.

+new building, cleaner and (presumably) less mildew.

-potential lack of privacy. One thing with where I am now is that I am pretty much in an office by myself which I kinda like. I don’t have anyone with their strong scented lotions and whatnot to bother me. I dunno what the seating arrangements will be like.

-EVERYONE in the whole department will be there. Granted, they’ll be split among three buildings connected by a hallway, but it makes for a lot more people and the lack of privacy I mentioned above. Plus, there will be supervisors there. Last thing I need are random people looking over my shoulders. Let me work in peace.

-having to pack up all of my shit in order to move it to a new location. While I could use a little cleaning out of my desk drawers, it’s still a pain in the ass.

-space issues. I might now have the same amount of space I have now.

+/-a break room. While we have a break room currently, it’s very small and there is no place for people to sit and eat their lunches. This is why we currently sit at our desks and eat. But that also means we don’t need to clock out and that adds to our hours which means I get off early on Fridays. See the conflict there?

While it looks like the minuses are more than the pluses, I have to keep an open mind about all of this. I mean, some of the minuses may turn out to be pluses! So who knows? I did drive by the place today going into work and it does look like a decent set of buildings. I guess we’ll have to see. I mean, we need to go somewhere. The lease for the current building is up this year.

I am at work and feeling less than productive today due to the fact that my boss is out of the office for the rest of the week (which is basically tomorrow since we have Friday off) and I got very few charges to post.

There are the INSP checks that can be posted, but I’m not going to do them because 1. I could give a rat’s ass and 2. I deliberately don’t know how to do them so I won’t be able to post them. I used to post money and I hated it, so I’m going to do whatever I can to avoid doing it again.

I know that makes me sound like a poor employee. Oh well. This was supposed to be a transition job until I find out what I want to do. So far, nothing is coming to me. It pretty much sucks… if my current position paid better and the company wasn’t still suffering the consequences of one of the doctors committing insurance fraud and leaving the company to pay the government a couple of million dollars so the employees are left in the dust, it might not be quite so bad.

So, thanks to Dr. *mumbles* being a huge dick and trying to defraud people, we now no longer have annual raises (which with everything else getting more expensive and we’re still stuck at a standstill, kinda sucks as much as it sounds), no annual Christmas party, no annual company picnic, no ice cream socials, no free pizza on Valentine’s Day… you see where I’m going with this.

I know I should be grateful I even have a job and all of that. And I am glad I do get a paycheck of some sort, don’t get me wrong. I kinda just wish things were back they way they were before.

OK OK, enough of my bitching. I gotta try to stay positive. Back to wasting time on the internets. If only they hadn’t blocked TVTropes…
snapdragon76: from the New Moon trailer. (Fursplode!)
OK, I’m starting to get a little pissed off here.

For those of you who are new here, I work at a medical firm in the Patient Financial Services department doing data entry. Basically I take the charge sheets (that the doctor writes the diagnosis, the level of the office visit and whatever in office procedures the patient might have had for that particular visit). I also post the co pays for that day onto the office visit for that particular patient. Are you with me so far?

OK then. Most of the time, it goes pretty smoothly. It’s a little mundane at times, but it’s fairly stress free (as opposed to posting insurance payments. I HATED doing that). There are times, however, where things don’t go as smoothly as they’re supposed to. Certain offices (because I post for more than one specialty) tend to make things harder for me than they need to be.

Like for instance, the ENT office I post for has a tendency to not include the charge slips along with the payments sheets with the payments for those charges on them. So I have nothing to post the co pays to, like an office visit. I look and see that that particular patient has seen the doctor, yet I don’t receive the charge slip for the office visit for said doctor on that particular day. However, I do get a payment sheet with the co pay that they paid for that office visit. So, to simplify, I get a payment to post, with nothing to post it to.

This means that I have to put a balance forward onto that person’s account for that particular doctor for that particular day so I can have SOMETHING to attach the co payment that they paid to, since I don’t get the charge to post. It’s important that I do this, so that the log sheet I post from, can match with the amount of money that was collected that day.

The really frustrating thing, aside from this being time consuming, is that this happens FREQUENTLY with this particular office. It’s like they take the payments, yet forget to send me the charge slips so that I can post the payments to them. It drives. Me. Crazy. There have been times, when I posted a payment log which were nothing but balance forwards that I had to do. Is it really that hard to ensure that ALL the charges get sent?! I don’t think so!!!

Then there are other times where the person who fills out the payment log sheet doesn’t put the correct patient number in or they put the name of the person who paid (like say an underage patient’s guardian or parent) instead of the actual person who was seen, which means I have to try and search for the right name and patient number so I can post the payment to the right account.

BLARGH!!!

Sorry for the ranting and all. I just had to vent somehow and short of taking an Uzi to people, this seemed the best way to do it…

Today was kind of a meh sort of day. First, I kinda get into with a co-worker (who isn't even in the same building anymore) over something that could've been avoided with a little bit of courtesy. I came in and noticed there was something off about my desk. My chair was lowered and a few of my supplies were moved. Nothing major admittedly, but enough to know there was something amiss. So I emailed the girl who comes in on Fridays and shares the office with me (she sits where another co-worker of mine used to sit. One with whom I got along with MUCH better. Why she has to come in one day a week when she has a perfectly fine work area the rest of the week is beyond my ken). I asked her if someone was at my desk after I left on Friday, since that's my early day. She said that there is someone being trained and she was sitting there. Now, no one had mentioned to me that there would be someone coming in to be trained. And certainly no one had told me they'd need to use my desk.

Now, I don't give a rat's anus (my word of the day, BTW) that someone needs to use my desk while they're being trained. But a little heads up would be nice. Mostly so that I don't come in later on and think someone has been going through my things. I'm very picky when it comes to my personal areas, like work or home. I don't even feel comfortable with people in my room.

It didn't help matter any that my co-worker took kind of a bitchy attitude with me about it. I shouldn't be surprised though, since she's always been kinda bitchy to me in the first place. This incident should make things even BETTER between us however, especially since we've never had to share a workspace before. Well, at least it's only for a few hours once a week...

My best friend from work will be moving out of state on Wednesday. I'm feeling kinda depressed about that. I had hoped we'd get together one last time before she left, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen. It kinda blows. It wouldn't be so bad if she were moving to somewhere like Georgia or New England or somewhere. They're going to Tennessee. The place where mom and I have talked about going for years now. From the looks of things, we're not going to make much headway in that direction anytime soon. If it were just me, I'd probably drop everything and move, but it isn't so I can't. So it's a bit frustrating to say the least.

While I am excited about the prospect of going up this fall for a week or so, I fear it'll just whet my appetite and I'll never want to leave.

OK, enough of me being emo for now. Hopefully the next time I post something, it'll be more cheerful...

snapdragon76: Did I mention that I like reading? (books)
Hello again everyone!

Things here are going pretty well. I'm in a good mood mostly because I got my time off approved for vacation this fall! Mom and I are planning on going to Tennessee for almost a week and a half (nine days, specifically). I'm really excited about this, because the two of us want to eventually make a permanent move up there somewhere in the near future. I'm sick of Florida...

I hope to get a small camcorder to record a video diary of our trip. if possible, I'll try and post my efforts here. I was able to replace my iPod, which should be arriving tomorrow. I gave mom my old one to mom since I couldn't get it to work, and she was able to get it to work for her, so I don't know if the problem I was having before is something else unrelated to the iPod itself. I guess we'll see.

Currently I'm reading the first book in the Millennium Trilogy, Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. It's very engrossing to say the least. I also watched the Swedish language film, which was also very good. And, I'm going to say this here and only this one time, but I kind of ship Lisbeth and Mikael a wee bit. I know that the ship gets sunk, as it were but sometimes we ship things we don't understand... -_-

I'm still trying to catch up with my posting at work. I think I get a little bit knocked away... but then more comes. *siiiiigh* Well, all I can do is keep trying to plug away at it.

Posting here to apologize for being neglectful of my journal. I guess I’ve just not been motivated enough to really do a regular post, and for that I’m sorry. I guess by the time I get home, I just feel either too tired or too lazy to bother with a post other than just bits of random things I find interesting or amusing here and there. I think I have a little bit of ennui or something.

But not only have I been lax on posting, but also on reading everyone else’s posts as well. I guess that makes me a poor “friend” or something.

Plus, I’ve been on my laptop a lot and the client I use for it doesn’t have a spell check (which is a bit strange to me, but I digress), so I have to open Text Edit on order to write up anything and then copy and paste onto my client. And if there is something I need to use on a regular basis, it’s a spell check! So that is a bit of a hassle that I don’t feel like dealing with. I’m going to try and get better at both though, but I know I’ve said that before…

Work is pretty much status quo. I’m a bit behind lately due to us having to go and change the prices to a bunch of different codes, which had a small window of time to get done in, so that took precedence over all the rest of my stuff. So basically I’ve been trying to play catch-up with everything. I have a nice mountain going.

Speaking of mountains, mom and I are making significant headway into our visit to Tennessee over the fall. We found a nice (and inexpensive) place to stay while there. It’s located in Pigeon Forge, which is central to everywhere we wanna go, so that’s a big plus. Also, the rooms have a fridge and microwave, so that will cut down on eating out. MAJOR plus right there.

My former co-worker and her daughter are there at the moment staking out houses for THEIR move in another few weeks or so. My feelings about this are mixed. While I’m happy that they’re doing something they’ve wanted to do for awhile now, I’m sad that they won’t be around anymore and that they’re moving to a place where I want to go also… but before me. So, I’m trying not to be depressed and jealous at the same time. I know I’ve gone on about this before, so sorry if I’m boring the few of you who still read my journal…

In other news, my iPod stopped working and when I tried to reset it, it said there was a hardware issue that was preventing my songs to be uploaded from iTunes. So now, since I had to reset it, I have no songs on it AT ALL!! I can’t even get it to where I can use my apps. So the plan is to take it to the Apple store in my area and see what they have to say. If it costs as much to fix as to buy a new one, I might have to go ahead and do that. So while I’ve been making do by listening to the radio on my phone (yes, it has FM radio), it’s not the same as having MY music. Plus, there are no commercials on my iPod.

I’m also going to bring in my MacBook because the battery case on the bottom is warped and I want to know what’s causing it and to see if there is anything I can do about THAT!! I’d like to get a new laptop, but I have a feeling that is not going to be happening anytime soon… :-[

Well, that’s all for now. I’ll try to get back to reading my FL again soon. I just get distracted easily is all. LOL.
